Recorded on September 25, 2021.
This was my first attempt on recording the guitar. It was published on Youtube on a different account. During this time, I was trying out my webcams, multi-media software, microphones, etc. It was only a couple of months before that I began playing the guitar again after a bout with arthritis on my fingers. It was more than 10 years since I last played the guitar (2010). My fingers were still stiff and my hands and wrists lost their dexterity after the long drought.
This is a classic song of the Pangasinan (Philippines) dialect. It was composed in the 1930s by Julian Z. Velasco and became popular to the locals. However, it is not the official song of the province, it is like THE folk song of the people. “Malinac Ya Labi” in English means “peaceful or calm night”, it is a love song like many other Filipino songs.
I am planning to record a new version of this song; I have a lot of guitar pieces on the pipeline but I must record them on calm and peaceful times to get the best results!
