This song was on the debut album “Earl Klugh” released in 1976, produced by Dave Gruisin and interestinly Lee Ritenour was on the backing guitar. I prefer EK’s early albums where the guitar is more dominant than the background. During the early years, his talent is raw and more aggressive – which I like.
My guitar cover is based on the studio version with a little touch from his live version. The intro of the studio version is electric piano so I have to dabble down a bit and cut it short for this Youtuble take. It wasn’t until I watched his live performance that I attempted to play it, but couldn’t get the “feel”. But last week, I started to get it by listening to the studio version. So here’s my take!
